T.S. Sych defended his PhD thesis at St. Petersburg University (St. Petersburg). Dissertation topic: "Luminescent noble metal clusters stabilized by protein matrices: photophysical and structural properties, practical applications". The current research interests include noble metal nanoobjects (clusters and nanoparticles) stabilized by biopolymer matrices. The main results include: 1) synthesis of silver clusters on the tRNA matrix; 2) development of techniques for determination of albumin and immunoglobulin in blood serum using silver and gold clusters; 3) development of techniques for selective determination of dioxyphenylalanine in blood serum samples using silver nanoparticles.

The main research areas are at the intersection of physics, chemistry, medicine and biology and are associated with the development and study of the structure of various supramolecular complexes based on polymers and biopolymers:

  • Metal clusters (silver, gold) stabilized by biopolymer matrices (DNA, proteins, amino acids)
  • Biosensors based on DNA and protein complexes with metal clusters for medical diagnostics
